The recent tournament at Rio Pinar Golf Club was no exception, with a competitive field that included Olympians Alejandra Llaneza of Mexico and Ashley Lau of Malaysia. Alejandra Llaneza, a seasoned professional and Olympian, represented Mexico in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. A pioneer in Mexican golf, Llaneza has competed on the LPGA Tour and earned recognition for her consistency and determination. At Rio Pinar, she tied for fourth place with a score of 3-under-par 213 (70-71-72), delivering a steady performance that highlighted her experience and resilience.

A rising star, Lau has already earned a professional victory on the international stage. At Rio Pinar, she secured an impressive second-place finish with an 8-under-par 208 (71-71-66), including a stellar final-round 66.

The tournament concluded with a thrilling victory by Annabelle Pancake of Lebanon, Indiana, who claimed the title with a commanding 10-under-par 206. The event featured a diverse and highly skilled field, reinforcing the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour’s mission to provide a competitive and inclusive environment for professional golfers.
Next Up: Battle of the Sexes
Looking ahead, the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour is set to break new ground with its upcoming Battle of the Sexes tournament, scheduled for December 9–10, 2024, at Orange County National Golf Center. This innovative event will feature 36 male and 36 female golfers competing head-to-head in a two-day stroke play format.
In a unique approach to leveling the playing field, men will play from PGA Tour tees while women will compete from LPGA Tour tees. This format ensures a fair and exciting competition, emphasizing skill over gender. With a $30,000 purse awarded solely based on performance, the Battle of the Sexes is poised to captivate fans and redefine traditional golf competitions.
LPGA Partnership and Epson Tour Exemptions
