Rising Talent Sadie Englemann Impresses in Her Pro Debut; Jessica Porvasnik Continues Phenomenal Form Before Her LPGA Rookie Season
Miami, FL (January 16, 2025) — In a dramatic playoff under gusty conditions, Lauren Miller (Dallas, TX) secured her first professional victory on the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour, outlasting Jessica Porvasnik (Ponte Vedra, FL) on the first extra hole. Both contenders displayed exceptional shot-making to finish at -15 over the three-day championship, while rookie standout Sadie Englemann (Austin, TX) nearly stole the show with a solo third-place finish in her first professional tournament.
Final-Round Drama
The closing stretch at Venetian Bay showcased a riveting duel between Miller and Porvasnik, who matched each other stroke for stroke until their battle continued into a sudden-death playoff. Miller, who narrowly lost in a playoff at an NXXT event last season, seized her long-awaited breakthrough this time around.
"Truly humbled and honored to win my first professional title on the NXXT Women's Pro Tour," said Miller. "To do it shooting 15 under and going toe to toe against LPGA pro Jessica Porvasnik was incredibly special and I cannot wait to build on this going into the rest of 2025! I look forward to teeing it up again with NXXT Golf next week!"
Porvasnik, meanwhile, recorded her second consecutive runner-up in as many weeks—further proof of her consistent excellence. She now looks ahead to an exciting rookie season on the LPGA Tour, armed with incredible momentum.
Impressive First Showing for Englemann
Sadie Englemann capped off her pro debut with a confident third-place finish at -11, highlighted by a final-round 68. Her performance underscores the depth of new talent rising through the NXXT Tour ranks.
